Fitter toned less stressed more energetic

I really enjoy the aerobics at Curves!

When do we do aerobics?

Bend stretch and lift!

I wouldn’t be able to bend, stretch and lift without the Curves Workouts!”

stretchSheila is such a superstar. . . and way too modest.  She forgot to mention when she reached 1100 and 1300 workouts and waltzed right past the milestones.  We caught up with her at 1400 and still going very strong!  Well done Sheila!

Sheila says that she’s noticed that her mobility has greatly improved and she has more suppleness and wouldn’t be able to stretch, bend and lift without the Curves Workouts!

Sheila says, “at other gyms because no-one is monitoring members it’s easy to use the machines incorrectly and not get the most out of the workouts!  At Curves the coaches are always on the ball, coaching and correcting and motivating.”  

Well, Sheila’s been doing this workout long enough to know!  She does it every day, we can almost set the clock by her workout time!  Congratulations Sheila!

cardiovascular systemDid you know, that older adults with high levels of the stress hormone cortisol, are more likely to die from cardiovascular heart disease?

This, is the important conclusion of a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism by Nicole Vogelzangs PhD of VU University Medical Center in The Netherlands. Vogelzang’s study found: that high stress can elevate cortisol levels – resulting in a higher risk of death due to cardiovascular failure.

Don’t get stressed though – Curves has the answer!

It is common knowledge though, that exercise reduces stress levels, which in turn controls the release of cortisol. Therefore, a workout that combines weight training, cardio and relaxation is ideal. Circuit training does just that: combining the working out of the cardiovascular system with the exercise of all the major muscle groups.

That sounds just like the Curves Workout, followed by a nice relax!

As stated on the NHS choices website, Cardiovascular Disease is one of the main causes of death and disability in the UK, but it can often largely be prevented with a healthy lifestyle.
